Research Integrity

Picture
Rigorous Peer Review
  • i-Proclaim ensures that all research output in our journals, is thoroughly peer reviewed by external reviewers. Publications of a commentary or opinion nature may not be sent for external peer review but will include extensive editorial review and revisions.
  • All articles submitted to i-Proclaim journal are initially assessed by an Editor, who decides whether or not the article fits the scope of the journal and is suitable for peer-review.
  • Submissions considered suitable for peer-review are assigned to independent experts, who are asked to assess the article for clarity, validity, and sound methodology.
  • Based on the reviewer reports the editor will make a decision to for ask for revisions, accept or reject the submission.
  • If conflicting review feedback is provided, or if the feedback is unclear, then the editor will engage with the reviewers to further discuss the submission and the suggested editorial decision.
  • Overall editorial responsibility rests with the journal’s Editor-in-Chief, who is supported by an expert, consulting editor.
  • i-Proclaim journals can operate double-blind, or blind peer-review processes. Whilst the i-Proclaim encourages double-blind processes, journals are able to choose their preferred review option.
  • We aim to make the review process as efficient as possible, whilst maintaining a quality of reviewer feedback. In most cases, the review period is expected to take under 3/4 weeks.
  • Reviewers are asked to provide formative feedback, even if an article is not deemed suitable for publication in the journal.
  • All of our journals adhere to the COPE guidelines for best practice. As followers of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), i-Proclaim ensures that our team follows Code of Conduct for Journal Publishers.
  • Please visit the journal website for specific Editorial Policies.

Anti-plagiarism Checking
  • All articles submitted to i-Proclaim journals are initially assessed (in-house screening) by an Editor/ Managing Editor for overall suitability for the journal. The managing editor will use the Grammarly and Paperrater software for checking the originality of submissions received.
  • All journal articles and manuscripts are screened for plagiarism by the Originality Check system from Grammerly and Paperrater. This screening system compares incoming submissions to a large database of academic content, and alerts editors to any possible issues.

  • i-Proclaim uses LOCKSS “lots of copies keep stuff safe”, to ensure the long-term survival of Web-based scholarly publications in the event that i-Proclaim stops publishing temporarily or the journals are no longer published. LOCKSS system has permission to collect, preserve, and serve the OJS Archival Unit of i-Proclaim.
  • i-Proclaim utilizes the LOCKSS system to create a distributed archiving system among participating libraries and permits those libraries to create permanent archives of the journal for purposes of preservation and restoration. More...
